Evolution of Writing

A collaborative BHSAD student project exploring type history through physical stop-motion animation.

A sign becomes an object; change becomes motion.

This account of writing’s evolution uses stop-motion photography. Symbols are assembled from real materials, break apart and take new forms. Objects’ texture and weight become part of the storytelling. The work connects the history of symbols with physical actions on a filming table.
